Proposal Title: Urban Oasis, 02/20/2008, Other

Proposal Synopsis: The main concept of this project is to create an utopian open space in urban area allowing people to gather and trigger social activities. Urban artists and civilians are invited to communicate in a performance. A landscape filled with symbolism is created in the middle of the city. In the middle of the landscape, a pond is placed. surrounded by tree of light and light ball lined up shaped like a crescent. Box shaped rock lined up, twisted and reaching out towards the pond represents tomb, showing series of juxtaposed story of â??Operation Iraqi Freedomâ??.

Artist's Biography: Born in Indonesia, Dicky Ferdiansyah is an architect. He graduate from Parahyangan Catholic University in 2006 and currently continue pursuing his Master study at University of Stuttgart since 2007.
