Proposal Title: Glass Fire, 03/18/2008, Painting

Proposal Synopsis: The tower is of glass shards,each unique,each hand-made representing the million lost souls. The tower is the shape of a flame , glowing in the sun with the eternal light of humankinds troubles. The base is a vast blackened rubble chamber.It builds up great heat in the sun , and through thermal exchange, powers cooling fans , humidifiers and water sprinklers in the lush hanging gardens inside the tower. The structures base arcs over the ancient river ,drawing cooling moisture up into the shimmering tower garden. Inside , visitors climb the spiral ramp , pausing to contemplate the fragility of life , as the flowering trees glow with a measure of peace.

Artist's Biography: I hold a Degree in Architecture from the University of Oregon , and was first Licenced to practice in 87. I design homes in modernist style.I create pastel artworks of Green alternative inrastructure , such as a park-roofed freeway bridge over the Columbia River and converting our old sports arena to a Peace Rose Garden.
